An exceptionally fine person, Bob was my next door neighbor, welder & teacher. He fabricated some of the most complicated & beautiful metal work, inventive but always elegant. He was my savior in more than one public art “situation”. A shining light, I miss him dearly.
During laser cutting, the negative shapes drop out of the positive metal sheet. The resurrected shapes in this piece were familiar to Bob. His good friend, who fabricated this memorial, was looking forward to sitting on the veranda they made & watching the sunset together.
