Pencil- Fern Hill

Traditionally, a child’s most basic tool for writing and drawing, this cantilevered “Pencil” makes its mark at the entry of Fern Hill Elementary. The surface is a canvas of brightly colored contemporary images familiar to the students & public attending the school.

In addition to the playful symbols & renderings, those who take a closer look are educated by historic photos of the school & vicinity.
